Cliffs Maro-Cerro Gordo
This Natural Park(Cliffs Maro-Cerro Gordo) is a protected area of about twelve square miles of very rocky coast, located between the provinces of Granada and Malaga (Spain), which includes a marine area a mile long from the beach.
This is the area of cliffs and ravines between the villages of La Herradura (Granada) and Maro(Málaga), with highly significant spaces as the beach "El Cañuelo" and the village of Maro, with small coves surrounded by cut over the sea.
It is declared as specially protected areas of Mediterranean importance(ZEPIM), declared by the Convention of Barcelona and Montecarlo in 1995-1996.
It is a Natural Park declared by the Andalusian Parliament (BOJA07/27/89 No 60 ) and its Proposed Plan of Natural Resources Management, for their unique values, and in order to preserve its flora, fauna, geomorphological formation, and special beauty.
